Carmona holds Christmas lighting ceremony
The municipal government here welcomed the holiday season with a Christmas lighting ceremony at the Municipal Town Plaza on Nov. 22, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
The ceremony was led by Cavite 5th District Rep. Roy M. Loyola, Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola, and other local officials.
In her speech, Mayor Loyola said the lights display symbolizes moving forward toward progress amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Ang paglalagay po nang gayak at palamuti sa ating liwasang bayan ay isang hudyat na handang-handa na tayong bumalik at harapin ang ating buhay pagkatapos nang dalawang taon nang unos na ating pinagdaanan (The decorations in our town plaza are a sign that we are really ready to move forward and face life after enduring two years of challenges),” the mayor said during the ceremony streamed live on Facebook.
Local artists performed at the event, including the Carmona Youth Symphonic Band, Carmona Community Chorale, and Carmona Performing Arts Group.
