Pandi cooperative receives Gawad Galing award

The Kapitbisig sa Pag-unlad Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC) from Pandi town in Bulacan received the major award for excellence at the Gawad Galing Kooperatiba (GGK) 2022 spearheaded by the Bulacan Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center City of Malolos on Nov.14, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

This was confirmed by Bulacan Provincial Public Affairs Office chief Katrina Anne B. Balingit in an interview with Manila Bulletin on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

She said the Kapitbisig sa Pag-unlad MPC has complied with the standards of an excellent cooperative, earning the highest recognition award with a cash prize worth P65,000 and a trophy.

Balingit said the cooperative also received the Hall of Fame award for its outstanding performances in previous years.

Special awards were also given to other best-performing cooperatives which received P15,000 cash prize and a trophy each. They were the Rabbit Raisers and Meat Producers Cooperative under the Micro Scale Category; PAGUNOVA Transport and Multi-purpose Service Cooperative; Catholic Servants of Christ Community Multipurpose Cooperative and Marilao Municipal Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative for Medium Scale Category; and Sta. Monica of Bustos Multipurpose Cooperative and Palayan sa Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative for Large Scale Category.

On behalf of Regional Director Cristina H. Villamil of Cooperative Development Authority-Region III, cooperative development specialist Jenalyn D. Ferrer congratulated all the nominated cooperatives and awardees for their contribution to the growth of the country, especially in the development of the province.

Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro and Board Member Allen Dale Baluyut, chairperson of the Committee on Cooperatives, also graced the program to deliver their messages, along with the members of the Provincial Cooperative Development Council.

Further, 15 cooperatives under the categories of Small Scale, Medium Scale, Large Scale, and Billionaire Category also received cash incentive worth P5,000 and a trophy each for the “Natatanging Bayanihan ng Kooperatiba sa Panahon ng Pandemya – Ikalawang Yugto” while seven other cooperatives received P10,000 and certificates as consolation prizes.

St. Martin of Tours Credit and Development Cooperative also received the Golden Year Award from the provincial government of Bulacan for their 50th founding anniversary last 2020.
