Caloocan City recently hosted a crucial People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) Consultative Meeting at the Bulwagang Katipunan, where it collaborated with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) and other local government units from Metro Manila. The meeting served as an avenue to revisit and reinforce the provisions outlined in NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular 2016-002, focusing on the framework for disciplinary and administrative actions against law enforcement personnel, while also addressing pertinent issues concerning the local PLEBs.

Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan expressed his gratitude to the attendees, particularly the NAPOLCOM and representatives from various PLEBs in Metro Manila, emphasizing the value of their insights and suggestions in bolstering not only law enforcement in Caloocan but also across the entire Metro Manila region.

"We are grateful to everyone who participated today, especially to the NAPOLCOM and the representatives of the various PLEBs in Metro Manila. Your opinions and suggestions today will undoubtedly be instrumental not only in Caloocan City but in the entire Metro Manila," Mayor Along stated.

Mayor Along highlighted the importance of a balanced approach in law enforcement, recognizing the significance of empowering police officers to effectively carry out their duties while holding accountable those who tarnish the reputation of the police force. He commended the Caloocan PLEB for its unwavering commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities diligently and without compromise.

"We understand that there are still many good police officers who continue to fulfill their duties properly and with respect for the rights of our citizens. Therefore, we need to balance our actions to ensure that we punish and hold accountable those who tarnish the name of the police, while recognizing and honoring the exemplary ones to serve as role models for their peers. I salute the Caloocan PLEB because I trust that they are fulfilling this duty without fail," he added.
