Valenzuela launches immunization program
The Valenzuela City government, together with the City Health Department, the Department of Education, and the Department of Health, has launched the “Back to BakUNA: Una sa lahat, Bakuna” program at the Apolonia F. Rafael Elementary School in Barangay Mapulang Lupa.
Accompanied by their parents and teachers, around 1,393 kindergarten to grade 7 students faced their fears and received vaccination as an early measure against vaccine-preventable diseases like measles, diphtheria, and tetanus.
“Back to BakUNA” is a DOH campaign that aims to create awareness of vaccinations and provide free school-based immunization program.
The launch was led by Health Secretary Dr. Francisco Duque III, Rep. Wes Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, and local executives.
