As Bahay Pag-Asa in Valenzuela City marked its sixth year as an institution for children in conflict with the law, the city government announced the completion of renovation works.

The former two-story building is now a three-story structure, with additional male quarters and a multipurpose hall, the city government said.

The city government said the new facilities would be a venue for its rehabilitation initiatives, such as technical training and income-generating programs.

Bahay Pag-Asa was built in response to the passage of Republic Act 9344, or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, which recognized the promotion and protection of children’s rights and overall well-being.
