Taguig extends tax payment period
Taguig City extended the deadline on the payment of taxes, fees, and other charges from May 20 to June 30.
In Executive Order (EO) No. 09, Mayor Lino Cayetano further extended the deadlines of “all business taxes, real property taxes, transfer taxes, amusement taxes and other taxes, fees, charges, and other financial obligations, due and payable to the Taguig City Government during the period of the enhanced community quarantine”.
The EO specifically applies the extensions to the following: payment of local business taxes; real property taxes; amusement taxes; transfer and corresponding city taxes and; the order also extends to rents, charges, and other financial obligations to the city government.
It further ensures that the dues would not incur penalties, surcharges, and interests, Cayetano said.
“The collected business tax translates into social services. The more the city can collect, the more social services we can render to Taguigeños,” he added.
These services include the door-to-door delivery of medicines, scholarship assistance, among others.
Taguig has received a Blue Certification Award from the Office of the Ombudsman for its streamlined frontline services, and an excellent rating from the Civil Service Commission for its compliance with Republic Act No. 11032, also known as the Anti-Red Tape Act.
The city is currently home to top corporations, foreign embassies, and government offices. New hotels, educational institutions, and shopping malls have also sprung in recent years within the fast-growing business districts of Bonifacio Global City and ARCA South.
