Taguig gets award for child-friendly policy
Taguig City received its fourth seal “Child-Friendly Local Governance” in recognition for the city’s programs which aim to protect children as well as raising them to be productive and values-oriented individuals.
Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano announced this during the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) meeting.
The award came from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Council for the Welfare of the Children and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Mayor Cayetano also signed the executive orders for the Reorganization of the Local Child Protection Council and Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit Monitoring Task Force.
The Local Chief Executive highlighted the role of the council in giving paramount importance on protecting the rights of children.
He also encouraged the council to use the convening of the council as a venue to be progressive and aggressive in recommending policies in protecting children in Taguig.
Aside from the prestigious award, the council also discussed the Mission and Vision of the Local Child Protection Council and the Children’s Month Celebration.
