Taguig distributes kindergarten anti-Covid packages
In celebration of Children's Month this 2020, Taguig City has started to release Daycare and Kindergarten Anti-COVID-19 Essential Packages on Wednesday, November 18.
Raising the theme "Sama-samang Itaguyod ang Karapatan ng Bawat Kabataan sa Panahon ng Pandemya", the local government of Taguig through its City Social and Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) will distribute the packages in all daycares situated in the city to keep children safe as the city continues its battle against the coronavirus.
The package includes 3 kiddie face shields, 3 adjustable washable face masks, 30 pieces of non-woven mask filters, USB led light, 16gb flashdrive with lanyard, 60ml alcohol contained in a sprayer bottle, 500ml alcohol for refill, Vitamin C, and building blocks.
Taguig City is a holder of the 'Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance', an award of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the national government's recognition of Taguig's programs that aim to protect the city's children with the objective of raising them to be productive and values-oriented individuals.
In November 2019, Mayor Lino Cayetano also signed the Local Child Protection Council and Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit Monitoring Task Force's Executive Orders for Reorganization and has continuously highlighted the paramount importance of protecting and upholding children's rights.
Taguig City is among the leaders in innovation in education amidst the pandemic with initiatives such as the Taguig Tele-Aral Program where students and parents may call trained teachers and other educational instructors and inquire regarding modules or other academic-related concerns and provision of back-to-school supplies such as school bags, uniforms, shoes, pencil cases with writing materials, and more.
