Taguig holds worshop for senior ciizens

The senior citizens of Taguig City have participated in the Seminar Workshop on Rights, Benefits and Privileges of Senior Citizens held simultaneously at the Center for the Elderly in Brgy. North Signal and Lakeshore Hall in Brgy. Lower Bicutan on Thursday, Sept. 19.

They also enjoyed their birthday celebrations with the distribution of senior citizens' birthday cash gift.

In 2017, the City of Taguig increased the birthday cash gift for registered Taguigeño senior citizens ranging from P3,000 to P5,000 depending on the age bracket they belong.

This year, 90 to 99 years old Taguigeño grandparents are now receiving P10,000 birthday cash gift.

%uD83D%uDCCC Aside from the birthday cash gift, Taguigeño senior citizens are given a P1,500 social pension which is distributed quarterly.

%uD83D%uDCCC In addition to these, all senior citizens who reach the age of 100 receive P100,000 and continue to receive the same amount every year after their 100th birthday.

%uD83D%uDCCC In Taguig, there is also a house-to-house delivery of free maintenance medicines for those with diabetes, high blood and asthma.

%uD83D%uDCCC The TLC Home Care Service -- which allows elderly residents to experience free nursing services at the comfort of their own homes -- is also being implemented in Taguig.

%uD83D%uDCCC Lolos and lolas can also avail of free eye check ups and prescription glasses under the Oplan Linaw program.

%uD83D%uDCCC Taguig City has launched its 5-storey building called Taguig Center for the Elderly -- located at Ipil-Ipil St. Cor. 9th St., North Signal in Taguig City-- which houses several facilities for our elderly such as therapy pool, sauna, gym, cinema, dialysis center, massage area, among others.
