As a step to realize the recently appointed Agri secretary William Dar’s main goal –abundant harvest and profit, under his new leadership, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita”.

Kadiwa is a market system which sells major agricultural goods at reasonably low prices to help poor Filipino households. Kadiwa is loosely translated as “one idea, one thought” which is in line with the Secretary’s “New Thinking” for Agriculture paradigm.

“We are now reviving a very important government project which targets to support both farmers and consumers through a direct marketing scheme,” Dar said during the launch.

The “Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita” is a collaborative project of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Food Terminal Inc. (FTI), a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC).

This project will establish a direct link between the farmers/fisherfolk and the consuming public. “Through Kadiwa – now anchored to ‘Ani at Kita’ – we can be sure that farmers get the best prices for their goods, while providing affordable, safe, and nutritious food to the consumers,” Dar said.

Dar also commended the local government unit of Taguig through Mayor Lino Cayetano for the strong support for the project.

“Pinanganak na dito sa Taguig ang ‘Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita,’ and soon we will establish regional food terminals across the country,” he added.
