The San Juan Knights on Monday outshined the Manila Stars, 85-74, in their do-or-die Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League  Datu Cup division finals at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan, putting them on a collision course with Davao Occidental Tigers for the championship.

San Juan’s Orlan Wamar and Mac Cardona led the way to victory for the Big J-supported Knights, which claimed the north division championship and the opportunity to take on south division champions Davao Occidental in the best-of-five MPBL Datu Cup national finals.

Wamar finished the game with 19 points, while Cardona contributed 18 points to the final tally.

The MPBL Datu Cup national finals will start on Thursday, April 11, in Davao City. The Davao Occidental Tigers will enjoy home court advantage as the first two games will be played in their territory.
