The Quezon City government is offering free burial and cremation services to constituents.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the city government said it is ready “to help those who might be needing free burial and cremation services”.

Attached in the post is the procedure on how to avail of the assistance as well as the requirements that need to be presented to the QC Social Services Development Department (SSDD).

Residents who need help for the burial or cremation of their departed loved ones must first coordinate with the SSDD and provide necessary information about their deceased.

This includes the “complete name of deceased, place of death, valid residential address in the city, and contact person and contact number of representative”.

After submission of this information, the representative must also submit a death certificate for the processing of the interment or cremation permit, after which, the cremation will then be scheduled.

The requirements include the true copy of the Death Certificate reflecting their Quezon City address, a duly notarized original copy of Funeral Contract, Certificate of Indigency from the barangays of residence, valid government ID of representative, and a valid government ID of the deceased.

The post also listed down the city’s accredited funeral parlors.
