DILG lauds QC parking ordinance
Barangay Tatalon was lauded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its attempts to address traffic woes on its roads.
Densing, in his speech at the session of the Metro Manila Council last July 26, reminded city mayors present of the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte during his State of the Nation Address last Monday to "restore all government highways used for personal purposes.
The DILG also urged the city mayors to ask their respective city councils to review their local traffic management codes.
Danilo Lim, Chairman of the Metro Manila Development Authority, also recommended the mayors to begin cleaning up national highways in their jurisdiction. Lim also encouraged them to document the condition of the streets ' before and after'.
For her part, Quezon Mayor Joy Belmonte directed the QC Department of Public Order and Safety, the Department of Environmental Protection and Waste Management and the Department of Market Development and Administration to clear the city's streets of obstructions, including illegally parked cars, unlawful tarps and illegal vendors.
