PNP reports 39 new cases
The number of policemen who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) climbed to 11,054 with 39 new cases reported as of February 21, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.
Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, PNP’s Administrative Support deputy chief and Covid-19 Task Force commander, added that 17 police personnel have newly beaten the illness, to bring recoveries to 95.7 percent of the total cases among its personnel.
The police force currently has 590 active cases while the death toll remains at 31.

Around 444 patients are recuperating in hospitals and quarantine facilities, Eleazar added.
As of Sunday, 101,421 have been tested for Covid-19, or 46.3 percent of a total of 219,130 PNP members.
Eleazar said the PNP is conducting aggressive testing nationwide.
Earlier, the PNP reminded all police personnel to wear face masks and face shields even inside police stations and offices as it implemented a new guideline that will strengthen efforts to prevent the spread of the disease.
