The National Capital Region Police Office together with other concerned government agencies demolished illegal structures and confiscated contrabands inside the Maximum Security Compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

This operation was pulled off with NCRPO Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar and Bureau of Corrections director general Gerald Bantag taking the lead of around 1,800 partakers from different agencies.

Among the agencies who participated in the demolition inside the national penitentiary were elements from the AFP Joint Task Force NCR, BJMP NCR, Bureau of Fire Protection NCR, PDEA, Department of Public Works and Highways and the PNP Special Action Force.

On the other hand, Team NCRPO is composed of different reactionary units and teams such as the Regional and District Mobile Force Battalions, Special Weapons And Tactics, Civil Disturbance Management Teams and police trainees of Basic Internal Security Operations Course and NCRPO Orientation Program.

Over 65 personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways took part in the said operation who are equipped of various heavy equipment to include 1 unit backhoe, 1 unit breaker, 4 units dump trucks, 1 unit boom truck, 1 unit air compressor, 2 units jack hammer, 1 set Oxy-Acetylene, 1 unit payloader, 2 units backhoe loader, 2 units bulldozer and assorted hand tools/ equipment.

"Nagtitipon tayo para sa mahalagang kaganapan dito sa BuCor. Ito ay makasaysayang araw and it is a great opportunity to be part of this noble undertaking" PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR said in his message to the men and women from different agencies.

The demolition is part of the new BuCor administration's reforms as it commits to institutionalize cleansing inside the country's main insular penitentiary.

"We have created monsters hanggang sa tayo na ang natatakot sa mga taong ito habang tayo ang dapat nangangasiwa sa kanila," NCRPO Chief said in frustration as to the current state inside the national penitentiary.

Due to the indispensable need for collaborated effort, PMGEN ELEAZAR guaranteed full support to the current NBP Director and his administration in the endeavor to end all forms of lawlessness and institutionalize reforms inside the National Bilibid Prison.

For his part, BuCor DIRECTOR GENERAL GERALD Q BANTAG said that the need for the constant conduct of random raids just to clean out jail cells off from all forms of contrabands is their way to fulfill the massive and aggressive reformation programs being implemented at the Bureau of Corrections.

"Kapag i-allow mo ang ganyang klaseng illegal structures na yan, diyan na sila nagtatago habang gumagamit ng mga cellphones at iba pang mga ipinagbabawal na kagamitan para hindi mo na makita," BuCor Director said when asked as to the core purpose of the demolition.

The successful demolition confiscated illegal drugs, weapons, sex toys, disallowed appliances, machineries and bundles of cash.

"Hindi mo na mabilang dahil napakarami," DIRECTOR GENERAL BANTAG explained as to the accumulated quantity of seized contrabands inside the Maximum Security Compound of NBP.
