Pateros reports 695 active Covid cases

The Municipality of Pateros, the smallest local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila, recorded nearly 700 active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

According to the tally by the municipal government, active COVID-19 cases totaled 695 as of Sept.9 as it added 125 cases for the day, an increase of 85 cases or 125 percent from 40 new cases recorded on Sept. 6.

Pateros has a total of 6,546 confirmed cases, 5,772 recoveries and 79 deaths as of Sept. 9. Of the 695 active cases, 665 are under isolation and 30 are scheduled for isolation.


Out of the total active cases, 430 or 62 percent are asymptomatic and 264 or 38 percent have mild symptoms.

According to OCTA Research, Pateros is the No. 1 LGU in Metro Manila based on average daily attack rate (ADAR). The municipality has an ADAR of 80.92 or the number of daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 from Sept. 2 to 8.

Pateros’ average number of new daily cases from Sept. 2 to 8 totaled 56, a decrease of seven percent from 60 recorded from Aug. 26 to Sept. 1.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), Pateros has 12 local cases of the highly contagious Delta variant, an increase from seven Delta cases listed last month.

Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III earlier issued an executive order outlining the guidelines in the handling of patients confirmed to have the Delta variant and their close contacts.

He said persons found to be positive for the Delta variant are required to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine or isolation in an isolation facility of the government.
