Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III placed Barangay Sta. Ana under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) because of the high number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

Sta. Ana, the most populated barangay in Pateros, has seven active COVID-19 cases.

The nine other barangays will remain under general community quarantine (GCQ).

Ponce said the 24-hour curfew will remain in the municipality but extended the window hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. from the previous 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. within which quarantine pass holders can buy essential goods. The extension is also to support restaurants and food establishments which were allowed to accept dine-in services up to 30 percent of their customer capacity.

Total lockdown on Sundays and the liquor ban will still be in effect in Sta. Ana.

The mayor reminded residents to always wear face masks and observe physical distancing outside their homes.

As of June 18, Pateros has 64 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 46 patients who have recovered, five who succumbed to the disease and two who were transferred to other local government units, leaving 11 active cases.
