Pasig City Council approved an ordinance to allocate financial assistance to the city’s small-scale entrepreneurs and those who lost their jobs during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Councilor Ory Rupisan, principal author of the said ordinance, said this will help the city’s small businessmen to slowly recover from the economic fallout due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the measure, market vendors, those who lost their jobs and other small traders can borrow money from the city government as much as P10,000 payable for one year with no interest.

Rupisan said those who lost their jobs and those who are applying for a new job but do not have money for their transportation and requirements can borrow up to P5,000 also with no interest and payable after one year.
