Online market covers 12 areas in Pasig
Vice President Leni Robredo’s office expanded its e-market project to cover 12 areas in Pasig City amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Robredo’s office began the pilot run of the Community Mart delivery service at the Pasig Mega Market where residents can buy meat, fruits, and other food items.
”Each purchase through this app will help our vendors and tricycle drivers,” Robredo wrote in a Facebook post.
The Pasig city government tapped tricycle drivers to deliver the orders from the market to barangays Ugong Proper—Valle Verde, Kapitolyo, Oranbo, Maybunga, Manggahan, Santolan, and Pineda.
Other areas include San Antonio — Ortigas area, Rosario Proper — Rosario dulo, Sta. Lucia Proper — Sta. Lucia / Dela Paz Boundary, Sta. Lucia / Cainta Boundary, and De La Paz — Dela Paz / Santolan Boundary.
“The said barangays were chosen for our pilot run because they are far from our market. In the coming days, we will try to expand the areas to be serviced,” she said.
This is the latest assistance Robredo’s office is extending to Filipinos affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Currently, the Community Mart, which is downloadable from the App Store and Google Play, is also servicing some barangays getting orders from the Kamuning Market
The goods can be delivered on the same day, provided that orders are placed before 12 noon. Orders sent in after 12 noon will be delivered the next day.
Cash on delivery is the mode of payment only for customers.
The vice president then thanked Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for partnering with her office for the project.
“Thank you to Mayor Vico Sotto and his young, and very proactive team for making this partnership possible,” said Robredo.
