Pasay mayor celebrates birthday with children

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano who will be celebrating her birthday on Aug. 16, gave about 280 children an advanced birthday treat at the Star City on Aug. 11, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Rubiano joined the 280 children from the city who all enjoyed the different rides at the Star City as well as the food.

She said treating the children at Star City also gave her enjoyment “like a kid in celebrating her birthday.”

According to the mayor, as a mother of Pasay City, she also wants the children in the city to feel her love as a mother to all the residents.

The birthday activity, which carried the theme: “Batang Masaya,” was held in partnership Star City from 1-6 p.m. on Thursday.

Aside from treating the children, the city government also conducted a blood donation activity with the theme: “Type Mo, Type Ko.”

The mayor said that instead of giving her gifts on her birthday, she called on city residents to participate in the blood-letting activity to save lives.

Rubiano said the blood-letting activity was held on Aug. 11 at the Cuneta Astrodome and was led by the City Health Office headed by Dra. Malou San Juan from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

She reminded residents who are willing to donate blood that they must be 18 years old and above, fully vaccinated against Covid-19, are mentally prepared, and should not be taking any maintenance medicine.
