The Pasay City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) said that, as of 7 p.m. of April 3, a total of 10,838 (92.31 percent) patients have already recovered, with 110 classified as new recoveries, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

The city’s active cases have remained in the 700 mark. Pasay City logged in 764 active cases with 160 new cases. In its last update as of April 2, active COVID-19 cases had gone down to 717, with 112 new cases.

Pasay’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic is 11,900.

The city’s downward trend in cases was first cited by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benjamin Abalos Jr., lauding the city’s initiatives to combat and stem the transmission of COVID-19 in its area.

Abalos, who cited figures from the City Health Office, said that the active cases dropped from 987 on March 24 to 902 on March 27.  In its update last March 29, the city’s active cases dropped further to 888.

First of the local cases of the South African variant of COVID-19 were detected in Pasay City on March 2. Weeks before that, a spike in COVID-19 cases was recorded in the city.
