Pasay City government extended its “Libreng Sakay” program which was launched on December 2 during the city’s 157th founding anniversary, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government decided to extend the services for “Libreng Sakay” which ended on December 30 to give convenience to those who are working in Manila offices and save enough money instead of taking a cab.

Rubiano said commuters who wanted to avail of the city’s “Libreng Sakay” need to download the Get-Pass app and scan the QR code.

The city’s “Libreng Sakay” program offers free rides from SM MOA going to SM Manila and vice versa, passing through Pasay City Hall and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) office.

The mayor said that the city government is also planning to deploy “bestbus” along Barangay 201 in Kalayaan going to SM MOA and vice versa.

The local government of Pasay offers three electronic jeepneys (e-jeeps), in partnership with the Global Electric Transportation (GET), that can accommodate at least 30 passengers. However, since Metro Manila still remains under general community quarantine status, only 15 passengers will be allowed and must wear face masks and face shields.
