Pasay curfew hours adjusted

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano signed a city ordinance adjusting curfew hours in the city from 10 p.m. to 5a.m. from the previous 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Rubiano said the adjustment in the curfew hours would help businesses recoup losses during the pandemic. She noted that the health emergency already affected a huge number of business establishments in the city particularly those in the food and retail industries.

“These industries help drive Pasay’s economy. Our city is known as the premier travel and entertainment hub of Metro Manila,” said Rubiano.

Rubiano, however, stressed that, “We will have to observe health guidelines even as we stretch the number of operating hours for our local businesses as well as travel time window for our city’s working population and those on important errands.”

The “ adjustment of the curfew hour within the territorial jurisdiction of Pasay City is necessary to give ample time for residents and non-residents alike, especially those who are working within the city, to run to their important errands and travel back to their homes and at the same time still preventing unnecessary travel and gatherings during the wee hours,” the ordinance read.
