9,864 Pasay residents get vaccines
The Pasay City Health Office (CHO) said 9,864 healthcare workers, senior citizens, and adults with co-morbidities were inoculated with Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the report submitted to her by the CHO showed that 4,653 health care workers in the four hospitals in the city, public and private, received their first dose of the vaccines while 940 received their second dose.
Rubiano said the CHO is targeting to inoculate 3,377 health workers, 3,000 with Sinovac and 730 with AstraZeneca, totaling 3,730 or 110.45 percent. for the first dose.

She said 541 health workers already had their second dose of Sinovac vaccines.
The mayor added that the city government is targeting to inoculate a total of 42,266 senior citizens but only 814 were vaccinated or only 1.93 percent.
Rubiano said for adults with comorbidities, the city is targeting to inoculate a total of 4,800 individuals. Some 760 already received their vaccines or 15.83 percent.
The mayor was vaccinated on April 5 at the T. Paez Elementary School.
Rubiano said President Duterte’s decision allowing local executives in high-risk areas to get inoculated will also help encourage their constituents to follow their lead.
