Pasay City has been making strides in following President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to clear roads of obstructions— and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has taken notice.

DILG Assistant Secretary Epimaco Densing III lauded Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano’s road claring operations when they roamed around the city on August 23.

“At Taft Avenue and Libertad, people can now walk in the sidewalks; Tramo Street, start of a three-day demolition of illegal structures,” Densing shared.

His assessment: “For Pasay City, it’s so far, so good!”

The DILG has given mayors in Metro Manila 60 days to clear roads of obstructions. Failure to do so will result in sanctions, including possible suspension.
