DOTr considers giving free ride to PITX passengers

in City News / Parañaque by 530

The Department of Transportation on Monday said it was planning to give free rides to passengers getting off at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, or PITX.

Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade said the free ride would be from PITX to Lawton in Manila.

Tugade said the PITX was built to help commuters and decongest traffic in Metro Manila.

He said he was also aware that some buses heading to Dasmariñas, Cavite, no longer pass by the terminal after picking up passengers from Lawton in Manila.

Buses that pass through PITX charge extra from passengers who are getting off at the terminal, Tugade said.

The PITX recently came under fire from the commuting public after passengers complained of difficulty in figuring out where to board due to the lack of signage and the additional rides they had to take just to reach their destinations.
