In what is perhaps their best game of the season, the Navotas Clutch on Thursday beat the Quezon City Capitals, 120-105, at the Navotas Sports Complex and secured the No. 6 spot in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Jai Reyes led the way for the Clutch, which posted the most points made by any team in the league. Reyes scored 32 points in the game.

Clutch head coach Gabby Severino attributed the team’s latest triumph to good defense.

“We adjusted and made a lot of steals,” Severino said. “We prioritized defense more than offense because we all know that we can score.”

With a 12-12 record after the win over Quezon City, Navotas is now assured of the sixth spot in the Northern Division playoffs where it will face the third seeded San Juan Knights.
