Academic scholars of Navotas City received Saturday their allowance for March to June 2021.

Some 62 beneficiaries of NavotaAs Academic Scholarship got P4,000-P20,800 educational assistance. Of this, 55 are high school students, two are college, and five are teachers.

"Metro Manila will be under Enhanced Community Quarantine starting August 6. We hope the amount they received will help tide their families over the next two weeks," Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

"This school year has been tough to our students and teachers, and we are grateful to our scholars for pushing through the hardships. While we cannot yet see the end of this pandemic, we will continue to persevere and do our utmost to keep Navoteños safe," he added.

"We also urge everyone to do their part and make it their personal mission to avoid contracting COVID-19 or infecting others," he further said.

High school academic scholars receive P18,000 per academic year for book, transportation and food allowance.

Navotas Polytechnic scholars get P22,000 per academic year for tuition, books, transportation and food. Scholars of other colleges or universities receive P262,000 for the same.

Furthermore, teacher scholars get P75,000 every academic year for their tuition; book, transportation and food allowance; and research grant.

Earlier, Navotas distributed the January-June 2021 allowance of 140 NavotaAs Athletic Scholars worth P9,900.
