Navoteños may now access the internet for free following the launch of the NavoConnect wifi program of the city government.
“Access to the internet is a basic right according to the United Nations. We hope that through NavoConnect, Navoteños will be able to harness the power of the internet to learn more and improve themselves,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
The 42 NavoConnect wifi hotspots include the Centennial Park, Navotas Polytechnic College, bus station, amphitheater, housing sites, health centers, and basketball courts.
Each hotspot can accommodate 250 users and each user will have free wifi connection for an hour.
“We want to make sure everyone will have an opportunity to use NavoConnect. By putting a cap on the number of users at a given time, the program can cater up to 10,500 users per hour,” Tiangco said.
