DILG commends Muntinlupa Peace and Order Council

The Muntinlupa Peace and Order Council (POC) received commendation from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for exceeding the perfect rating in the performance audit for 2021, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

“The Peace and Order Council Regional Assessment Team (RAT) commends the Council for its exemplary performance in ensuring peace and order and public safety in the community,” Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin of the DILG-National Capital Region said in a letter to the Muntinlupa City government. 

POCs are tasked to implement programs on anti-criminality, anti-insurgency, and crisis management related to peace and order, and public safety.

In the performance audit, the Muntinlupa POC got an overall rating of 102 percent. Based on the five pillars, or criteria, the local POC got perfect ratings of 10 percent in organization, 20 percent in meetings, 25 percent in policies, plan and budget, 25 percent in reporting and 20 percent in general supervision. 

In addition to getting a perfect score of 100 percent, the Muntinlupa POC was awarded a bonus of two percentage points for innovation to bring the total performance audit score to 102 percent. 

It got bonus points from the assessment team for submitting the no-contact apprehension program under Ordinance 2021-280, development of the Alabang viaduct phase 2, and construction of the Urban Green Space and Recreational Parks in Barangay Tunasan. 

“We would like to thank the Muntinlupa City Peace and Order Council for actively participating in the 2022 Local Peace and Order Council Performance Audit for the Highly Urbanized Cities. We look forward to your sustained excellent performance in the pursuit of peaceful and safe communities in the years to come,” added Agustin. 

The regional assessment team lauded the city’s timely submission of reports and creation of special action committees. 

The DILG-NCR also recognized Muntinlupa’s approved 2020-2022 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan in coordination with the barangays.

Recently, the DILG-Muntinlupa Field Office also conferred the Regional Peace and Order Council-National Capital Region’s (RPOC-NCR) Mark of Recognition to Muntinlupa for the its unwavering support to all RPOC-NCR initiatives.

For 2021, Muntinlupa emerged as No. 1 most competitive city in resiliency among all highly-urbanized cities (HUCs) in the country under the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).
