MMDA chairman catches Covid-19
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Danilo “Danny” Lim tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 in spite of the precautionary measures that he followed while working continuously at the agency amid the pandemic, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
In a Facebook post on his verified account, Lim bared the news about his health saying that he underwent a routine swab test on Monday night (December 28).
The result of the test showed that I was positive for COVID-19 despite the precautions that I have taken— strictly following health protocols at all times. This only shows how infectious COVID-19 is, and that all can get infected),” he said.

The chairman said that he is currently experiencing mild symptoms of the dreaded disease.
“I will continue to self-isolate for now. I immediately informed all the people I have been in close contact with these past few weeks so that they can monitor themselves and for them to self-isolate for 14 days),” said Lim.
Despite having Covid-19, Lim said he is still performing his work as chairman of the MMDA, remotely.
We will hold meetings via teleconference in order to ensure that our operations in the office will not stop especially during these trying times),” he said.
With this, Lim urged the public to take extra precautions in order not to get infected with COVID-19 which had already claimed lives and hospitalized many.
