Malasakit Movement donated 50 personal protective equipment (PPE) sets and a sack of rice to the Pasig City Police- Scene of the Crime Operatives (Pasig-SOCO).

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson and assistant secretary Celine Pialago, who is the head of Malasakit Movement, turned over the donation to Police Lt. Col. Marianne Ebdane, MD, chief of the Pasig City SOCO.

“Dr. Ebdane asked us to give them PPEs because they really need it when conducting autopsy, especially now that we are fighting COVID-19,” she said. “We also gave them a sack of rice as they are frontliners. This is our little way of thanking them.”

Ebdane said they really need the PPEs as they autopsy bodies of individuals who might have been infected with COVID-19.

“We are very grateful to the Malasakit Movement of Asec. Pialago. This is a very big help to our team, especially when we are conducting autopsy and crime scene processing,” she said in Filipino.

Pialago said the donors of the Malasakit Movement were the real heroes, saying without them their mission would be impossible.

“I am very thankful to our donors. Iglesia ni Cristo recently gave the Malasakit Movement 500 sacks of rice and 1, 000 PPEs,” she said.

“During these trying times, it is important to help one another. We can win this fight together,” the MMDA spokesperson added.
