Blackpink’s ‘The Show’ gets a lot of Filipino viewers
Soompi, citing YG Entertainment, said the Philippines was among the top three countries that viewed Blackpink’s “The Show", according to a report by GMA News.
After the K-Pop girl group held their first virtual concert last week, their agency YG released the list of countries with the most number of viewers who tuned in to their show.
Filipino Blinks, or Blackpink fans, would be delighted to know that the Philippines came in third, following United States and Thailand, where member Lisa is from. Japan and Mexico rounded up the top five list.
South Korea, the home of K-Pop, was sixth on the list. The other countries among the top viewers were Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
According to the report, “The Show,” which required paid memberships on Blackpink’s YouTube channel, drew over 280,000 members.
The record-breaking Blackpink, once named the world’s biggest music act by Bloomberg, debuted in 2016.
With members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa, the group rose to fame with their hit singles “Kill This Love,” “How You Like That,” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.”
