Let's take a look at the most exciting and popular mini-series that are sure to brighten up your leisure time.

Mini-series are rapidly gaining popularity, and the creators try to keep the rich plot as concisely as possible in a few episodes so that the viewer can fully enjoy what is happening on the screen without having to wait for the next season another six months or more.

We've gathered the fascinating mini-series you want to watch in one sitting because they hold your attention and don't loosen your grip for a second watching. If you are interested in a more gambling pastime, you will love to play live in an online casino.

In our list, you will find the following titles:

  • Chornobyl;

  • State of the Union;

  • Patrick Melrose and others.

The series, consisting of only five episodes, grabs your attention from the very first minutes, does not allow you to break away until the very end, and leaves a deep impression immediately after its release, "Chornobyl" became a leader in all ratings. All these are thanks to the quality shooting, great attention to detail, and realistic and truthful presentation of one of the most tragic stories in world history.

The feature series consistently and accurately shows everything that happened in the first hours and days after the explosion at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. The viewer witnesses the mistakes made by plant workers, the reactions of ordinary residents, and the actions of government officials trying to cover up what happened. The unseen, deadly atmosphere that pervades every episode is almost physically palpable, making your heart sink.

Good Omens

The adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's excellent novel Good Omens has been long awaited by fans, and in 2019 the story of an angel and a demon's friendship is finally brought to the screens in six episodes of this terrific series. Not only was it admired by viewers, but many Christians were genuinely disgusted, demanding it is banned from airing.

The series was damn good, bright, light, and very entertaining. The Angel Azirafel and the demon Crowley live on Earth these days and enjoy life until the Antichrist is born, threatening all humanity with the apocalypse.

State of the Union

Everyone can watch this show in one evening because its ten episodes fit into just a couple of hours. And spending two hours in your life will be the most exciting and interesting because the plot is very unusual. Each episode begins the same way: two people meet in a small London pub and talk. Tom orders a pint of beer, and Lisa contains a glass of wine. Their marriage is on the verge of total collapse, and they try to save it.

The couple visits a marriage therapist every week, and before that, they sit at the bar and talk for a while. These conversations are their main psychotherapy. They are full of cute humor, musings on all sorts of topics, life stories, and mutual grievances that only they here can finally express to each other.

Patrick Melrose

Patrick Melrose is a wealthy and successful man who seems to have everything for a happy life. However, he is prone to reflection, self-injury, and self-destruction because of the traumas his father inflicted on him as a child. Even as an adult, Patrick has not been able to uproot the past from himself and so has come to alcohol, drugs, and debauchery.

The Beauty Inside

It is a light and unusual series about Alex, who doesn't have his own body. Instead, he spends every other day in another person's body. It deprives him of the ability to lead an everyday life - to study, work, to build long-term relationships with people. And Alex manages to get used to it, accept his essence, and live in peace with it. But one day, he meets a girl named Leia, who makes him feel something completely new and far from what he was used to.

Alias Grace

Grace is an Irish woman who was a maid for one, Thomas Tanner. When he was murdered, all the evidence pointed to the girl, and she could not prove her innocence because she didn't even remember the events of that fateful day. For the murder, she had to serve ten years in prison, after which she was released and turned to a confident Dr. Simon, supposedly able to restore her lost memories. What happened? Is she guilty, or is it all a terrible misunderstanding?

Parade's End

Protagonist Christopher Tietjens is the ultimate reflection of British aristocracy: prim and gallant, a man of unshakable morals. Except that Tietjens never imagined that he would question his fidelity to his wife and fall in love with a young suffragette, Valentina, for whom he would change his outlook on life. This series is about honor, dignity, and staying true to yourself under any circumstances.

Olive Kitteridge

It is the life story of teacher Olivia Kitteridge and her family, spanning 20 years. As a strict person, Olivia remains demanding not only of herself but also those around her, especially her family. And her son, who she believes is not as bright as she would like, and her husband, who has become too easy, suffer from this—a poignant series about the impossibility of family happiness.

Little Dorrit

Little Dorrit is the story of the troubled love of Amy Dorrit, born inside the prison walls where her family ended up after the bankruptcy, and Arthur Clennam, who tries to mend his relationship with his oppressive mother. A series about friendship, caring, understanding, tolerance, and the fact that every family has a skeleton in the closet, and sometimes it's better if that closet is closed more securely.

English teacher Jack Eppling is presented with an excellent opportunity to look into the 60s and prevent the assassination of JFK. But the protagonist couldn't even guess that the past has its secrets, temptations, and consequences that won't let him go.

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist and mysterious girl hacker Lisbeth Salander investigate bizarre incidents - the disappearance of a woman and the murder of an innocent man. The series is based on the Stieg Larson trilogy of the same name.

This story is based on actual events when ranchers were accused of possessing guns, and a police raid eventually turned into a shootout and a real war between the residents of this farm and FBI agents who did not expect such resistance.

The Haunting of Hill House

A large family - husband and wife with five children - for a long time live in a lonely house, where otherworldly creatures have been living apart. Finally, after many unsuccessful attempts to cope with the mysterious inhabitants, they move out. For a while, the house on the hill stands empty, blowing in all winds, lost, lonely, and sinister. But years later, the family has to return - they are brought here by a shared tragedy, perhaps related to the past. The ghosts are still alive and hungry. The people face a new battle - not only with otherworldly forces but also with each other and their fears and memories.

An original tragicomic anti-war series that is very funny to watch and unbearably sad at the same time. It is a quality filmed and beautiful project with colorful characters, telling about the horror of war and how much it changes people against their will.

The series is based on a novel of the same name published in the 1960s. The main character is a young man who goes to war and tries to survive. Trying to avoid participating in combat flights, he resorts to the most inventive and comical tricks. A brutal battle is shown very realistically in the background of his adventures.

Netflix's intense mini-series is based on actual events and tells an unbelievable story of injustice, indifference, and the horror of the system. It was covered in the story "One Rape Story," which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2015.

The project is positioned as a detective but leans more toward deep drama and is powerfully shocking. The eight episodes are divided into two storylines - the life of a girl who is a rape victim and the investigation of the case. Despite the lack of action and dynamic action, it is almost impossible to tear yourself away from the screen throughout all eight episodes. It's all thanks to the poignant subject matter and impeccable acting.
