Blackpink considers producer as fifth member

K-pop girl group Blackpink doesn’t just consist of four talented, dominating young women, but it also includes a fifth member—the one who’s behind their music, according to a report by GMA News.

During the “Blackpink: Light Up the Sky” global press conference on Tuesday, Jisoo revealed that Teddy Park, their YG Entertainment producer, felt like their fifth member.

“Teddy also knows us individually very well and he listens to what we have to say to each other and he is able to reflect that in the direction of our music,” Jisoo shared. “Teddy is definitely our fifth member.”

The women also revealed that Teddy will be making appearances in the documentary, sharing his insights on the four members he has worked with in the past years.
  
Since the interviews were shot separately, Jisoo also shared that she was curious on what he had to say about them.

“Blackpink: Light Up the Sky,” the K-pop girl group’s first documentary and Netflix’s first K-pop original documentary, tells the story behind the success of Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie as they make it to the top of the industry.

Showcasing both the vulnerable aspects of the members and their undeniable bond, the documentary is set to premiere on Netflix tomorrow, Oct. 14.
