San Miguel pushes Pandacan bus terminal

San Miguel Corp. President and COO Ramon Ang is pushing for the conversion of the Pandacan oil depot into a bus terminal and food hub in Manila.

Ang said the unsolicited proposal is now in the "final stage" of evaluation by the Department of Transportation (DOTR).

Under the plan, San Miguel will build 300 bus bays, a cold storage facility and market in Pandacan which used to be the oil depot of Petron Corp., a subsidiary of San Miguel.

The terminal will be linked to the Skyway Stage 3 project which will connect North and South Luzon Expressways.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno welcomed the project, saying it would not contribute to traffic congestion as a flyover would be built around the site.

San Miguel agreed to bear the construction cost.
