The construction of the Metro Rail Transit Line-7 between North Ave. in Quezon City and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan is about 47.21-percent completed, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTR).

In a social media post, the DOTR said “ongoing civil works include the guideway construction, underground/depressed and at-grade excavation or concreting works, and installation of coping beam, girder and trans-slabs on the elevated structures”.

“With the construction in full swing 24/7, the rolling stock and electrical and mechanical (E&M) works are also in progress. At present, 108 cars are already completed,” the agency said.

It said that once completed by 2021, the 22-kilometer rail line will reduce travel time from Quezon City to San Jose del Monte City from as long as three hours to only 35 minutes.

“It will give Bulakenyos an efficient and convenient commuting experience,” the department said.

MRT 7 is being built by San Miguel Holdings Inc. at a cost of P70 billion. It will have 14 stations at North Ave., Quezon Memorial Circle, University Avenue, Tandang Sora, Don Antonio, Batasan, Manggahan, Doña Carmen, Regalado, Mindanao Avenue, Quirino, Sacred Heart, Tala and San Jose del Monte.
