Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro on Tuesday fired a traffic aide accused of raping a junior police volunteer inside the Marikina Sports Center.

Ordered dismissed was Traffic Aide 1 Arren Atanacio over the complaint of the volunteer that he raped her inside the Junior Police headquarters located on the third floor of the sports complex.

Teodoro said Atanacio was a trainer of the Junior Police, a unit created for individuals who wanted to help in managing the traffic within the city.

The victim claimed she was raped by Atanacio while she was sleeping inside the barracks.

A medico-legal examination confirmed she had been sexually abused.

Apart from the rape complaint, Atanacio is facing other charges of abuse, including sexual advances filed by 13 individuals, ages 13 to 26, at the Marikina City Prosecutor’s Office.

“The local government of Marikina wants to ensure that government employees are not using their position to abuse other people, We will not tolerate such acts,” Teodoro said.
