The city government of Marikina said is coordinating with the Rizal provincial government to identify the source of the dead pigs found floating in Marikina River last week.

Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said this is the best way to trace who is responsible for illegally dumping of dead pigs so they will be held liable for the violation of the Clean Water Act and the country’s Sanitation Code.

Teodoro assured that the pigs could not have come from Marikina itself since backyard hog-raising is prohibited in the city and the river’s flow is downstream.
