Marikina launches massive disinfection campaign

Inumpisahan na ang massive disinfection sa lungsod ng Marikina na agad ipinag-utos ni Mayor Marcy Tedoro matapos makapagtala ang Marikina ng una nitong kaso ng Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). 

Ayon sa pamahalaang lungsod, ang massive disinfection ay isinasagawa sa mga pampublikong paaralan, pamilihan, parke at ibang local spaces para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng sakit dulot ng virus.

“Sama-sama, tulong-tulong tayo rito. Buong komunidad ay pangangalagaan upang hindi magkaroon ng transmission," paniniguro ni Mayor Marcy.

Pinaalalahan ni Mayor Marcy ang lahat na huwag mabahala sapagkat walang local transmission sa Marikina dahil ang 86-anyos na pasyente ay may travel history sa South Korea.

Kasalukuyan nang nagsasagawa ng contact tracing sa mga nakahalubilo ng pasyente para maiwasan na magkaroon ng transmission sa nasabing virus. 

Gayundin, ipinag-utos ni Mayor Marcy ang pagbabawal sa mga pagtitipon o mga assembliya sa komunidad, pagpunta sa mga places of of convergence kabilang ang markets, parks, malls at ibang “high-touch areas.”

Ang mga homeowners’ association sa lungsod ay pinaalalahanan din na panatilihing malinis ang kapaligiran.

Samantala, ipinag-utos din ni mayor sa mga barangay na mamigay ng vitamins sa mga senior citizens upang ibayong palakasin ang kahilang kalusugan.  

Inatasan na rin ni Mayor Teodoro ang Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) sa 17 barangays ng lungsod upang makatulong sa monitoring, pagrereport, at mahigpit na pagpapatupad sa protocols at preventive measures laban sa COVID-19 threat.
