Marikina keeps strict health protocols
The city of Marikina will continue implementing strict health protocols ahead of the arrival of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines in the country, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said in a report by Philippine News Agency.
"Marikina City is continuing its strict implementation of health protocols, contact tracing, and educating the public about the dreaded disease," he said in a message when asked what steps the city will take while waiting for the Covid-19 vaccines.
Teodoro added that the local government is ready for its Covid-19 vaccination program.

"Just recently, we opened our Mega Vaccination Facility that can inoculate 10, 000 people, daily, because we have 10 vaccination stations," he said.
Teodoro also added that their cold chain facilities, where the vaccines will be stored, are within the same radius of 100 meters so transportation of the vaccine and its storage will not be a problem.
"As such, I have issued an Executive Order for the creation of Marikina City’s Covid-19 Vaccination Task Force—composed of medical experts—to prepare for the city-wide rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination program. This is to help instill confidence among the city’s residents on the vaccine and to provide them with an efficient and effective vaccination drive against the disease," he said.
