Marikina's F. Manalo Street placed under lockdown
Marikina City placed F. Manalo Street under lockdown after a case of coronavirus disease 2019 was discovered in Barangay Nangka.
Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro said the local government is now using a link map to aggressively track those who came in close contact with the Covid-19 patient.
The mayor said the lockdown of F. Manalo Street, where a resident tested positive for the virus, is a precautionary measure to stop the transmission of the dreaded disease for the safety of the public.
The lockdown will be lifted once the tracing and testing of persons who got into contact with the patient are completed. The street has a talipapa and is densely populated.
The city government said it is expecting a surge in the number of COVID19 cases because of the mass testing they are currently conducting.
