#MNCAdvisory: June 24 is special non-working day in Manila
Malacañang has declared June 24 as a special non-working day in Manila to mark the city’s 448th founding anniversary.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed Proclamation No. 731 on June 4. A copy of the proclamation was released Thursday afternoon.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” the proclamation read.
This year’s celebration marks the last Araw ng Maynila commemoration under the leadership of Manila Mayor and former President Joseph Estrada after losing to former Vice Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso in the May 13 midterm elections.
