Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Tuesday assured Manileños that his administration would remain steadfast in implementing the Nutribun program despite the P4.3-billion budget deficit.

“We will find a way to provide funds and to fulfill our commitment in addressing malnutrition for elementary school students,” Domagoso said after a meeting with the City School Board.

“Early next year is our target to implement Nutribun,” he added.

One of Domagoso’s programs to address child malnutrition and poverty is to implement a daily Nutribun program wherein the city government will provide nutritious ready-to-eat meals to kindergarten and Grade 1 public school students every day.

Domagoso said the revival of the program would greatly help thousands of poverty-stricken families in Manila.
