Manila to launch Nutribun program early 2020
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Tuesday assured Manileños that his administration would remain steadfast in implementing the Nutribun program despite the P4.3-billion budget deficit.
“We will find a way to provide funds and to fulfill our commitment in addressing malnutrition for elementary school students,” Domagoso said after a meeting with the City School Board.
“Early next year is our target to implement Nutribun,” he added.
One of Domagoso’s programs to address child malnutrition and poverty is to implement a daily Nutribun program wherein the city government will provide nutritious ready-to-eat meals to kindergarten and Grade 1 public school students every day.
Domagoso said the revival of the program would greatly help thousands of poverty-stricken families in Manila.
