Manila hospitals get six modern ambulances
Manila turned over six of its 12 new high-end ambulances to its district hospitals on January 25, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
The said hospitals include Sta. Ana Hospital, Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila, and Ospital ng Tondo.
The other six Advance Cardiac Life Support ambulances will be stationed at the Manila City Hall for emergency use.
The ambulances can be used for free by residents of the city.
In a Facebook post, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said they will continuously aim to upgrade the city’s facilities, especially its medical facilities and equipment amid the pandemic.
“Layunin po ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na lalong paunlarin ang ating mga medical facilities and equipment upang mapataas din ang antas ng kalusugan ng bawat Batang Maynila (It is the city government’s aim to further improve our medical facilities and equipment to increase each Manileño’s quality of health),” he said.
“Every life that we will be able to save using this ambulance is valuable,” he added.
The new ambulances from America cost a total of P300 million, Domagoso said. They arrived in the city in December 2020.
First aiders who will operate the ambulances will receive professional training, the Manila mayor said.
