Manila holds routine meat inspection
The Veterinary Inspection Board (VIB) Special Enforcement Squad recently conducted their routine meat inspection. They inspected meat being sold at Blumentritt Market, Central Market, Paco Market, as well as the market located along P. Sanchez Street.
The VIB team was able to confiscate pork liempo coming from Germany. To recall, the Philippines banned pork imports from Germany in September 2020 due to African Swine Fever (ASF).
The VIB Special Enforcement Squad continues its daily monitoring of the meats being sold in the city's markets to ensure that they are safe for public consumption.
