All barangay heads in Manila were directed to issue new quarantine passes to be used by residents during the week-long enhanced community quarantine, according to a report by Manila Times.

In a memorandum, Manila Barangay Bureau Director Romeo Bagay ordered all village chairmen in 896 villages to issue quarantine passes to be used by those who will go out of their homes during the lockdown.

One quarantine pass will be issued for each family.

The city will adopt the odd-even scheme on quarantine passes.

Holders of passes with odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) can go out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while those with even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 0) can go out on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, anytime from 5 a.m to 6 p.m.

On Sunday, those with odd number passes can go out from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. only, while those with even number passes will be allowed outside from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

The city started vaccinating senior citizens on Sunday.

Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said mobile vaccination clinics visited villages to inoculate senior citizens who pre-registered to get AstraZeneca shots.

“Manila begins vaccinating senior citizens with AstraZeneca vaccine. Today we will start to protect our lolos and lolas (grandmothers and grandfathers) of Manila,” he said on Facebook.

There were 2,380 senior citizens who pre-registered.

“After the priority sectors, we will immediately vaccinate those who pre-register, so we encourage every Manileño to pre-register,” the mayor said.

Residents who wish to pre-register can visit www.manilacovid19vaccine.com.

The city has reported 37,889 Covid-19 cases.
