Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno

Isko not blaming Estrada over Manila’s poor financial housekeeping

account_balanceManila chat_bubble_outline0 Comments

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said he is not blaming the past administration for the city’s failure to meet the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) standards for good financial housekeeping.

On his Facebook page, Moreno said, “trolls are saying we ‘blamed’ the past admin’s failure. Wala po kaming sinisisi. Hindi po kami naninisi [We are not blaming anyone].”

Moreno stressed it was instead the criteria set by the DILG that the past administration was not able to meet.

Last week, the DILG released the list of 2019 Good Financial Housekeeping passers in the National Capital Region. All cities in Metro Manila were included except Manila.

Moreno, in a Twitter post, issued his reaction, saying: “Inaasahan na po namin ito [We already expected this]. DILG said this was due to past admin’s failure to comply with full disclosure of documents in 2018.”

Nevertheless, the city mayor said that they will do “better.”

“This kind of performance will not happen under our watch,” he said.
