Isko eyes technology to reduce corruption
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso considers using technology to lessen corruption in government.
“To solve corruption, we need to limit human discretion. To do that, we need to use technology. Naturally, corruption will die,” Domagoso said.
He was the inaugural guest of the “Talakayan sa Manila Hotel”, a weekly round-table discussion on issues facing the country.
“In governance, things are put into equal level playing field, as long as you follow the rules. The sauce for the gander is the sauce for the goose,” he added.
The Mayor also said that he wanted the nation’s capital to be reintegrated into the national government.
“We will reintegrate the City of Manila into the national government. Driven by their good purpose, the least we can do is to support them and to be with them side by side,” he added.
When asked if he still goes to sleep, the Mayor answered, “I don’t want to sound heroic, but with what I saw and experienced, as if I don’t have the right to rest with all the chaos, anarchy, and tyranny.”
