Manila's contractual, job order workers to get P3,000
Manila government’s contract of service and job order workers will receive P3,000 gratuity pay following the signing of a city ordinance, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso signed Ordinance No. 8718, authorizing the allocation of a P29.8-million budget to distribute to the said employees.
This is pursuant to Administrative Order No. 38, series of 2020 issued by President Duterte which authorizes the grant of gratuity pay to contractual and job order workers.
In a statement, Domagoso said the gratuity pay is a “well-deserved recognition of their (workers’) hard work and dedication to the city” amid the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to the ordinance, the budget will be sourced from the Special Activities Fund – Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses from available savings under last year’s budget.
The ordinance will have a retroactive effect as of December 29, 2020.
